This was an experimental project. We wanted to build a home companion using Kinect which can be interacted with simply by using gestures. The voice technology was not good enough to take commands on voice but we had better success in recognizing gestures. The solution identifies the presence and identity when somebody enters the room. It then personalizes and shows user-specific data and allows me to control various things in the house.

The project was to imagine what would be the future of configuring security in any kind of spaces. We tried using Matterport technology to scan the space using camera and depth sensor and generate an accurate 3d model. It will intelligently understand the space. Suggest ideal positions for sensors, cameras, and access controls. It will eventually help you configure the whole system within few taps.

Honeywell decided to build a new studio for the design team in 2013-14. We had an active involvement in planning and interior design for the new studio. I also decided to make a short film about it.
